DOGHOUSE - behavior of Seattle Mariners’ pitcher Arthur Rhodes - Brief Article

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

Nobody likes to have his fashion sense questioned, but Mariners reliever Arthur Rhodes is a shining example of someone who takes self-expression too far. After the Indians’ Omar Vizquel complained that Rhodes’ diamond earrings were causing a distracting glare in a day game last Saturday, the two players began yelling at each other. Rhodes became so incensed he eventually was tossed. “He started pointing at my head,” Vizquel says. “He was pointing at me like he was going to hit me or something.” Maybe Vizquel wasn’t accessorizing right. You can nominate a major league player for the Doghouse.
